President Donald Trump is stepping up his political appearances ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, as rising living costs and economic concerns remain central issues for American voters.

According to a Reuters report published on October 15, Trump had made 13 campaign appearances across 11 states since October 1. His rallies have focused on mobilizing Republican supporters, promoting his administration’s record and criticizing political opponents.

the economic message has become a significant challenge for the campaign. Voters continue to express concerns about inflation, gasoline prices and household expenses. Reuters reported that Trump has discussed manufacturing investments and energy prices but has provided limited detail at rallies about how he would reduce the cost of living.

Trump has also dismissed concerns that tariffs are contributing to inflation. Government data cited by Reuters showed annual inflation rising to 3.7% in September, up from 3.4% in August.

Democrats have used affordability concerns to criticize the administration, although Reuters noted that Democrats have also struggled to present a clear and consistent economic message of their own.

The November election will determine control of the House of Representatives and Senate. Republicans currently hold a narrow House majority and a 53–47 Senate majority. Democrats need a net gain of four seats in each chamber to take control.

If Democrats win the House, they could gain greater authority to investigate the administration and conduct congressional hearings. If Republicans retain control of both chambers, Trump would have a clearer path to advancing his legislative agenda.

The election outcome remains uncertain, with voter turnout, local issues and the economy likely to influence races across the country.
