Rehearsals are taking place for the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States, scheduled for Monday, January 20, 2025. Stand-ins for Trump and his wife Melania are participating in the rehearsal at the Capitol, walking the parade route in Lafayette Park.

This inauguration is considered a significant moment in U.S. history, as it marks Trump’s second inauguration. He will be the first former president in 130 years to return to office and the second president, after Grover Cleveland, to serve two non-consecutive terms.

The inauguration will feature a prayer service, a procession to the Capitol, the swearing-in ceremony, an inaugural parade, and multiple inaugural balls. Additionally, for the first time since 1997, the inauguration will take place on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, adding further significance to the event.

It should be noted that members of the U.S. military are currently rehearsing for the event at the Capitol and the North Lawn of the White House. The U.S. military’s Joint Honor Guard is involved in the rehearsals, ensuring the security and discipline of the entire ceremony.
