Trump Takes Final Campaign Push to Iowa and Kansas Ahead of 2026 Midterm Elections
With just two days remaining before the U.S. midterm elections, President Donald Trump is campaigning in Iowa and Kansas to strengthen Republican support and help his party maintain control of Congress.
U.S. President Donald Trump is making a final campaign push in Iowa and Kansas on Sunday, November 1, as Republicans work to maintain their majorities in Congress ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
Trump's campaign appearances are aimed at energizing Republican voters and supporting candidates facing competitive races in key states.
In Iowa, Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Dubuque at the Five Flags Event Center. He is also scheduled to travel to Salina, Kansas, where he will campaign in support of Republican Senator Roger Marshall.
The Kansas race is particularly important for Republicans. Marshall is facing a competitive challenge from Democratic candidate Adam Hamilton, making the contest significant in the battle for control of the Senate.
In Iowa, Trump is also supporting Republican Senate candidate Ashley Hinson, who is seeking to strengthen the party's position in the state.
The November 3 elections will determine all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 seats in the Senate.
Republicans currently hold a 53–47 majority in the Senate, while their advantage in the House is narrow. A shift in either chamber could significantly affect the administration's ability to advance legislation and implement its political agenda during the next two years.
Democrats, meanwhile, are working to regain control of the House and challenge Republican dominance in the Senate.
The midterm elections are widely viewed as an important political test for Trump's presidency. The outcome will help determine whether Republicans can maintain their congressional advantage or whether Democrats will gain greater influence over federal policy.
For millions of Americans, the election could shape future debates over the economy, immigration, healthcare, taxes and government spending.
