BACCO: A Key Industry Association Representing Bangladesh’s BPO and IT-Enabled Services Sector
The Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO), established in 2011, is a leading trade association representing the country’s contact center, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and technology-enabled services industries.
The association works to promote the growth of Bangladesh’s Information Technology-Enabled Services (ITES) sector, expand international business opportunities, generate employment, and protect the commercial interests of its member organizations.
One of its major objectives is to position Bangladesh as a competitive global outsourcing destination by developing skilled human resources, attracting international clients, and expanding the country’s capacity to deliver technology-driven business services.
Its activities include supporting member companies, facilitating connections with international buyers and investors, advocating industry interests, organizing training programs, seminars, and international business events.

For the 2026–2028 term, Faisal Alim, Managing Director of Wintel Limited, has been elected President of BACCO. Nahid Hossain, Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer of Brotecs Technologies, has been elected General Secretary.
Other office bearers include:
- Senior Vice President: Syed Sohail Reza

Faisal Salam’s Experience in Technology and the Digital Economy
Faisal Salam is the Chairman of FridaySoft Limited, a technology company involved in a range of digital and IT-enabled services.
The company’s service portfolio includes software development, IT support, cloud service management, data management, digital marketing, accounting BPO, back-office support, artificial intelligence solutions, cybersecurity, software maintenance, and technology training.
Its areas of operation also include website and mobile application development, cloud infrastructure management, DevOps, and AI-powered technology solutions.
His involvement in the technology sector, combined with his election to BACCO’s Board of Directors, creates an opportunity to contribute to industry development, policy discussions, technological capacity building, and the expansion of Bangladesh’s international business presence.
BACCO’s Potential Contribution to National Development
An industry association such as BACCO has considerable potential to contribute to Bangladesh’s digital economy, modernization of public services, employment generation, and foreign currency earnings.
One important area is the modernization of government services. BACCO member companies could provide technological and operational support in establishing modern call centers and integrated citizen support systems for government ministries, departments, city corporations, and public service organizations.
Such systems could improve citizen communication, complaint management, application assistance, information delivery, and access to public services.
The healthcare sector also offers opportunities for technology-driven outsourcing services. These may include hospital appointment management, telehealth support, patient communication, and digital health information services in coordination with public healthcare institutions.
In education and human resource development, collaboration with universities, technical institutions, and government agencies could help equip young people with skills in software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and international outsourcing.
Expanding international business connections between Bangladeshi technology companies and foreign enterprises could also attract international clients, increase service exports, and generate additional foreign currency earnings.
Furthermore, local technology companies could contribute to government digital infrastructure through data management, digital archiving, document processing, software maintenance, and cloud-based services. Ensuring data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance with government regulations would remain essential.
Faisal Salam’s Potential Role in Advancing National Technology Capabilities
As a newly elected BACCO director, Faisal Salam has an opportunity to contribute beyond representing the interests of an individual company or the technology industry. His position could provide a platform to participate in broader discussions concerning Bangladesh’s technological development and national digital capabilities.
Considering FridaySoft’s areas of technological operations, his experience in software development, cloud technology, artificial intelligence, data management, and technology training could contribute practical industry perspectives to policy discussions and collaborative initiatives.
He could potentially contribute to the digital transformation of public services, development of internationally competitive young professionals, strengthening of domestic software capabilities, and expansion of business relationships between Bangladeshi and international technology companies.
There are also opportunities to promote public-private technology partnerships, support emerging entrepreneurs and startups, expand market access, and encourage technology-driven employment.
Expectations from the Newly Elected Board
Transforming Bangladesh’s young population into a skilled workforce, strengthening the country’s position in the international outsourcing market, and increasing technology-driven export earnings remain important economic priorities.
The newly elected BACCO executive committee has a two-year term to advance these objectives through industry collaboration, human resource development, and international market expansion.
Stronger public-private partnerships, increased investment in skills development, and greater international participation by Bangladeshi technology companies could generate significant benefits for the country’s wider economy.
Industry entrepreneurs, young professionals, and stakeholders will be looking to the newly elected directors, including Faisal Salam, to help make Bangladesh’s BPO and IT-enabled services industry more competitive, employment-oriented, and internationally recognized.
