[Tehran, July 19, 2025] —
Yemen’s military has announced that it successfully carried out a hypersonic missile attack targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, forcing the facility to shut down and sending large numbers of civilians fleeing to shelters.

In an official statement, Yemen’s armed forces said the large-scale military operation targeted Ben Gurion Airport, located near the Israeli-occupied city of Lod.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, read the statement on television, declaring:

“The ‘Palestine-2’ hypersonic ballistic missile accurately struck its intended target.”

He further stated that the strike caused panic among millions of Israeli occupiers, leading to mass evacuations to bomb shelters and a temporary suspension of all flights at the airport.

The statement described the operation as a “response to the ongoing genocide in Gaza” and a “message of victory for the oppressed Palestinian people.”

Saree called upon Islamic and Arab nations to stand by Gaza and to take a united stance against the ongoing siege and bloody attacks on its residents.

He also declared that Yemen’s military operations would continue until the aggression on Gaza ends and the blockade is completely lifted.

According to Israeli media reports, following the missile’s launch from Yemen, residents in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas such as Gush Dan were ordered to seek shelter.

They confirmed that Ben Gurion Airport was temporarily closed.

Channel 12 reported that this is the second missile attack launched from Yemen toward Israeli-occupied territory within the past 48 hours.
