Novak Djokovic has expressed frustration over being kept in the dark about World No. 1 tennis player Jannik Sinner’s doping case. Speaking in Brisbane on Sunday, he stated that the issue does not send a positive message for tennis.
Anti-doping authorities revealed that Sinner tested positive for the anabolic steroid clostebol in two separate tests in March. However, an independent tribunal accepted Sinner’s explanation that the result was due to unintentional contamination and cleared him of wrongdoing.
Djokovic remarked, "Players are not being given the opportunity to know about such crucial matters. This could have a negative impact on the image of tennis."
The lack of transparency in the handling of Sinner’s doping case has fueled discontent among players, who are questioning the ethical and procedural aspects of the matter.
The incident has become a widely discussed topic within the tennis community.
