The U.S. signals strong military action to secure one of the world’s most critical oil shipping lanes

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has issued a strong warning regarding the security of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes. Trump said several countries may deploy warships alongside the United States to ensure the waterway remains open and safe amid escalating tensions with Iran.

According to Trump, nations that rely heavily on energy shipments through the Strait of Hormuz — including China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom — could send naval forces to support the U.S. mission.

The American president claimed that U.S. forces have already severely damaged Iran’s military capabilities but warned that Iran could still threaten shipping lanes using drones, mines or short-range missiles.

Trump also signaled that the U.S. military would continue striking Iranian positions along the coastline if necessary, emphasizing that Washington will act decisively to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.

The waterway is considered one of the world’s most vital energy corridors, carrying roughly 20% of global oil and gas shipments, meaning any disruption could affect energy markets worldwide.
