Hezbollah Spokesperson Mohammad Afif Killed in Israeli Strike

Mohammad Afif, the spokesperson for Lebanon's armed group Hezbollah, was killed in an Israeli attack in Beirut's Ras al-Nabaa area, according to a report by Al Jazeera. Afif was a senior media relations officer for the group.

A source informed the Qatar-based news outlet that the strike targeted the administrative center near central Beirut. Al Jazeera’s correspondent Dorsa Jabbari described Afif as a prominent figure in Lebanon's media landscape and noted that he was primarily a civilian.

“This attack occurred in a significant administrative area, not in the usual southern suburbs where Israeli forces typically strike,” Jabbari added.

Analysts suggest that this move is part of Israel’s broader strategy to weaken Hezbollah’s capabilities across economic, social, political, and military fronts.

The strike marks an escalation in the ongoing conflict, signaling Israel's intent to target critical Hezbollah infrastructure in unconventional locations.
