Dhaka, Bangladesh: A reception event was held at the Zahur Ahmed Hall of the National Press Club in Dhaka on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM, organized by the Probashi Kalyan Society. The program was graced by the distinguished academician Professor Dr. Sukomal Barua as the chief guest, while renowned poet Abdul Hai Shikdar delivered the keynote address.

Among the special guests at the event were Engineer Mohammad Hanif, founder president of the Development Institute of Economic Affairs (DIEA), Engineer HM Aminur Rahman Amin, president of the DIEA Dhaka District Committee, M. Sanwar Hossain, president of the Bangladesh National Defense Movement, and former Secretary Baboo Tapan Majumder.

Engineer Mohammad Hanif praised Dr. Ashok Gupta's remarkable efforts against the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh. He stated, "Dr. Gupta's work in advocating for the rights of minorities is highly commendable. Nine years ago, he planned to organize an event, but the then government did not grant permission. However, today, this event is taking place under the current government's time, which is a significant achievement."

Former Secretary Baboo Tapan Majumder also spoke highly of Dr. Gupta's legacy, saying, "Just like his father contributed to the country's development, there is no doubt that Dr. Gupta will continue on that path and further contribute to the nation's progress."

Professor Dr. Sukomal Barua, the chief guest, shared his long-standing relationship with Dr. Gupta and praised his contributions to the education sector in Bangladesh. "I have known Dr. Gupta for many years, and I have witnessed his significant contributions to the improvement of Bangladesh's education system. His efforts are truly commendable," Dr. Barua said.
