Bangladesh Police on Highest Alert Over Possible Attacks on Police Vehicles

Bangladesh Police has placed its units across the country on maximum alert amid intelligence reports indicating possible attacks or sabotage targeting police vehicles.

According to an emergency directive issued by Police Headquarters, all metropolitan police, range offices, district police and specialized units have been instructed to immediately enhance security arrangements for police transport and related facilities.

The directive emphasizes that no negligence will be tolerated in protecting government-owned police vehicles, including patrol jeeps, pickup trucks, buses and other official transport. Officers have been instructed to park vehicles only in secure locations when operationally necessary and to ensure that no police vehicle is left unattended or vulnerable.

Police stations, police lines, office compounds and designated parking areas have also been ordered to increase surveillance and strengthen security. Authorities have been directed to intensify patrols, improve monitoring and promptly report any suspicious person, object or activity to senior officials.

Police officials described the alert as a precautionary measure aimed at preventing possible acts of sabotage and ensuring the safety of law enforcement personnel and government property.

The public has also been urged not to panic and to continue their normal activities while remaining vigilant. Citizens are encouraged to immediately inform the nearest police station or law enforcement agency if they notice any suspicious person, vehicle or abandoned object.

Security analysts say such preventive measures are essential for protecting critical law enforcement assets and minimizing potential security threats before they materialize.
