U.S. President Donald J. Trump issued a stark warning to Iran on January 28, 2026, urging Tehran to quickly “come to the table” and negotiate a fair and equitable deal to abandon nuclear weapons, as a massive armada led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln moves toward the Iranian region.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote that the fleet is larger than the one previously sent to Venezuela and is moving with “great power, enthusiasm and purpose.” He added that the mission is ready to carry out its objectives “with speed and violence, if necessary.”

Trump warned that time is running out, and recalled past military action, including “Operation Midnight Hammer”—a U.S. strike on Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025—cautioning that any future attack would be “far worse” if negotiations fail.
