Iran’s Supreme Leader Spends His Days Sleeping and Using Drugs – Explosive Allegations by Israeli Intelligence Linked X Account
[Tehran, July 27, 2025] — An explosive accusation has been made against Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei by a Persian-language X account (formerly Twitter) that claims affiliation with the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. The account alleges that Khamenei spends half his day sleeping and the other half under the influence of narcotics, while millions of Iranians suffer without access to clean water and electricity.
In a post published last Friday, the account wrote:
“How can a leader lead if he spends half the day asleep and the other half high on drugs? Water, electricity, life!”
In an earlier post dated July 9, it stated:
“Drug use and talking to spirits — these are not admirable traits for a national leader.”
Identity and Activity of the Mossad-Linked Account
The X account was launched last month with a premium subscription and identifies itself as the “official Persian-language spokesperson” for Mossad. Although Israeli authorities have not formally acknowledged the account, Israeli news outlet JFeed reports that at least two intelligence analysts believe the account could indeed be operated by Mossad.
Benny Sabti, an Iran analyst at Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies and a former IDF Persian-language officer, said:
“Some of the information shared by this account could realistically only be known by Mossad.”
Iranian Military Commander and Prize Giveaway
The account also posted about a newly appointed, yet unnamed, commander of Iran’s armed forces at the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters. Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that the name was being withheld for security reasons. However, the Mossad-affiliated account claimed to know the identity and encouraged users to guess the name.
When one user guessed “Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi,” the account replied:
“Contact us privately to claim your prize.”
Previous Allegations and Controversy
This is not the first time such accusations have surfaced. In 2022, an Iranian academic named Nour Mohammad Omara appeared on a Turkish Muslim Brotherhood-aligned TV channel and claimed:
“Many people don’t know that Khamenei uses drugs himself. There is a village in Balochistan under IRGC control where drugs are produced for him.”
He alleged that the area is completely off-limits to outsiders.
No Official Response Yet
Iranian authorities have not issued any official response to these latest allegations. Ayatollah Khamenei has, in the past, publicly denounced drug use as “un-Islamic,” and Iran is known for implementing the death penalty for drug-related offenses.
Analysts believe the provocative tone and direct challenge posed by this X account to Iran’s ruling establishment represents a new phase in the ongoing digital shadow war between Iran and Israel.
