Obama Officials Politically Manipulated Intelligence to Fabricate Russia Election Interference Narrative — Tulsi Gabbard

[Washington D.C., July 21, 2025] — U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has made an explosive allegation, claiming that top officials from the Obama era "politically manipulated" intelligence to fabricate the narrative that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election. In light of this, Gabbard has submitted a criminal referral to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

On Tuesday, the DOJ confirmed that it had received Gabbard’s referral, but declined to provide further comment on the matter.

Last Friday, Gabbard released a number of non-classified documents which she claimed serve as "additional proof" that President Obama and his national security team manufactured the foundation of the Trump-Russia collusion investigation—an effort that allegedly began after Hillary Clinton’s defeat in the 2016 election.

Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Gabbard stated:

“Their goal was to remove Trump from power and overturn the will of the American people.”

She further added:

“Whoever was involved in this conspiracy—no matter how powerful—must be fully investigated and prosecuted. The future of our democracy depends on it.”

During an appearance on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” program, Gabbard claimed she had released over 100 documents showing how senior Obama administration officials orchestrated a political conspiracy following the 2016 election.

Gabbard remarked:

“This is an event of historic significance. This conspiracy is not about party politics—it concerns national security and the integrity of our democracy.”

Following Gabbard’s actions, former President Donald Trump shared a satirical video on his Truth Social account. The video featured Obama and other Democrats repeating the phrase “No one is above the law,” and ended with an AI-generated scene showing Trump seated in the Oval Office while Obama is being arrested, with the song “YMCA” playing in the background.

Meanwhile, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley announced that he would declassify the appendix to a 2018 Department of Justice Inspector General report. That report focused on the Hillary Clinton email scandal and the broader context of election interference in 2016.

Notably, then-FBI Director James Comey had publicly stated that Clinton was careless for storing classified information on a private email server while serving as Secretary of State, but did not recommend criminal charges against her.
