The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, has congratulated the nation on its victory in the recently concluded war. In his third televised speech broadcast on national TV, he declared, “The Zionist regime was nearly destroyed and was shattered by the blow of the Islamic Republic.”
Khamenei said:
“I congratulate the great Iranian nation on this historic victory against the fake Zionist regime. Despite propaganda and claims, this regime was on the verge of collapse and was destroyed by the mighty strike of the Islamic Republic.”
Referring to Iranian commanders and scientists martyred in Israeli attacks, he stated:
“This counterstrike by the Islamic Republic was beyond the enemy’s imagination — but it happened. Our armed forces pierced through the enemy’s multi-layered defense and destroyed cities and military facilities with missile strikes.”
A ‘slap in the face’ to the United States
Extending his second round of congratulations for victory against the U.S., Khamenei said:
“The United States launched a direct attack on Iran because they knew, otherwise, the Zionist regime would have been completely annihilated.”
He called the U.S. attack a failure, saying they could not inflict major damage, and stated that the assault on Iran’s nuclear facilities should be prosecuted in international court.
Regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's remarks, Khamenei said:
“Trump can't live without theatrics. Beneath his exaggerated presentations lies a truth — they failed, and these statements are an attempt to cover that failure.”
He revealed that Iran directly struck Al Udeid, one of the United States’ key bases in Qatar, causing significant damage.
“This is no minor incident. The Islamic Republic is capable of striking regional U.S. bases whenever it wishes. Any future aggression will cost the enemy even more.”
Praising national unity
In his third round of congratulations, Khamenei said:
“The Iranian people have shown extraordinary unity and solidarity in this time of crisis — it is unparalleled. A nation of 90 million stood by its military and set an example of national unity.”
“They kept bringing up excuses: human rights, democracy, women’s rights, the nuclear program. In reality, all of these are just smokescreens.”
On Iran’s national dignity and cultural heritage
Khamenei said:
“Iran is a great nation with an ancient civilization. Our cultural heritage is far richer than that of the United States. Expecting such a nation to surrender is foolishness.”
He concluded by praying to God for the victory of the Iranian nation.
Background: 12-day war and ceasefire
It should be noted that Israel launched a military operation against Iran on June 13, which lasted for 12 days. Iran’s retaliatory strikes caused extensive damage, and under pressure from the U.S. and other allies of Israel, a ceasefire was eventually implemented.
Iran has warned that if the ceasefire is violated with any renewed aggression, the Islamic Republic is fully prepared to deliver an immediate and decisive response.
