Islamic Republic of Iran Achieves Historic Victory Against Israel – Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
[Tehran, June 26, 2025]
Following a bloody 12-day conflict with Israel, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei today issued a powerful message, declaring the war as a “historic victory for the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Khamenei’s Third Victory Statement:
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) today (Wednesday), Khamenei said:
“Under the blows of the Islamic Republic, the Zionist regime has been almost shattered, along with all its claims and arrogance.”
“I congratulate the nation on the victory over the deluded Zionist regime.”
This message marks Khamenei’s third public statement since the start of the Iran-Israel conflict. Although he did not appear in public during the war, he responded multiple times through Telegram and X.
In a message on Telegram, he further wrote:
“For the third time — congratulations. Congratulations to the Iranian nation for its unity.”
“A nation of nearly 90 million stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in solidarity.”
“The Iranian people have demonstrated their unique character and shown that, when necessary, only one united voice speaks for this nation.”
The conflict began on June 13 when Israel launched airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. In retaliation, Iran fired hundreds of drones and missiles toward Israel, resulting in heavy casualties on both sides.
Although a ceasefire is now in effect, Iran is portraying the conflict as a “symbol of national unity and a testament to military pride.”
Khamenei’s statements suggest that despite any tactical losses on the battlefield, Iran seeks to frame the conflict as a political and psychological victory—particularly aimed at reinforcing support among regional allies.
This message not only reinforces domestic nationalism within Iran but also sends a diplomatic signal to the international community. With this bold declaration after the war, Khamenei could be setting the stage for a more complex political landscape in the Middle East in the coming days.
