“Iran seems very weak; thank you for giving us advance notice of such a weak attack” — President Donald Trump
[Washington, June 24, 2025]
Amid ongoing tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel, President Donald Trump mocked Iran’s retaliatory response, describing it as “very weak.” In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said Iran’s response was “extremely weak,” and thanked them for “giving us advance notice.”
In Trump’s words: “Iran’s reaction to the destruction of their nuclear facility was extremely weak — exactly what we expected — and it was countered very effectively.”
He claimed that Iran had launched a total of 14 ballistic missiles, 13 of which were “successfully shot down,” and the other “veered off course.”
Reassuring the public, Trump said, “No Americans were harmed in the attack, and there was no significant damage to property. Even no residents of Qatar were killed or injured.”
Mocking Iran further, he added, “Most importantly, they seem to have emptied everything from their ‘system.’ Hopefully, that means there’s no hatred left. I thank Iran for giving us advance notice.”
Finally, Trump remarked, “Perhaps Iran can now move toward peace and harmony in the region. I also strongly encourage Israel to do the same.”
Through these comments, Trump appeared to downplay Iran’s missile attack and treat it more as a symbolic gesture than a real threat — a stance analysts warn may further inflame tensions on the global stage.
