NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte declared firmly at the ongoing summit in The Hague that the Islamic Republic of Iran must never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Speaking to reporters, he said, “NATO’s position on Iran’s nuclear program is clear — the alliance has long been united in ensuring that Iran can never produce weapons of mass destruction.”

He further added, “Under the obligations of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), we have repeatedly called on Iran to comply fully. NATO members continue to work together in unity on this issue.”

Mark Rutte also highlighted Iran’s role in the Ukraine war. He stated, “Iran is deeply involved in Russia’s aggression in Ukraine. It has supplied destructive drones that Russia has used against Ukraine’s civilian population.”

This statement comes at a time when tensions between Iran and Israel in the Middle East have reached a peak, and Western countries are once again expressing concern over Iran’s nuclear program.
