A day after the U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated during an emergency briefing at the Pentagon that “Iran’s nuclear capabilities have been extensively damaged and crippled” by the operation.

At the start of the briefing, Hegseth made it clear:
“Saturday night’s strike was a planned operation, and its primary objective was to weaken Iran’s nuclear program.”
He added:
“We are confident that a large portion of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure has been destroyed, and there were no civilian or military casualties.”

The Defense Secretary claimed:
“Many American presidents dreamed of delivering a final blow to Iran’s nuclear program — but only Donald Trump has turned that dream into reality.”
He described President Trump as the “hero of this bold and remarkable operation.”

Hegseth further remarked:
“When President Trump speaks, the world should listen.”
Praising the unmatched military capability of the United States, he said:
“No other country besides the United States could have carried out such a precise and high-level operation.”

This statement comes at a time when tensions in the Middle East are at a peak, and fears of a wider war are spreading throughout the international community.
