Netanyahu is the Only Obstacle to Peace in the Middle East, Don’t Fall for Israel’s Poison — Turkish President Erdogan

[Istanbul, June 21, 2025] — Speaking at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan launched a scathing critique of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He declared that Netanyahu’s government is the greatest obstacle to establishing peace in the Middle East.

Addressing representatives from 57 Muslim countries and international organizations attending the summit, Erdoğan said:

“I call on countries that have influence over Israel: do not fall for the poison Israel is spreading. The solution must be found through dialogue and diplomacy.”

Erdoğan further stated that Israel’s ongoing military aggression in Iran, Gaza, and across various parts of the Middle East is only deepening the current crisis. He accused Netanyahu’s government of deliberately provoking conflict and pushing the entire region into uncertainty.

Call for Muslim Unity

During his speech at the OIC summit, Erdoğan emphasized the importance of unity among Muslim nations. He said:

“If we don’t speak with one voice, no one will listen to us. Now is the time to let the world hear our collective voice.”

His remarks come at a time when the conflict between Israel and Iran has escalated, involving airstrikes, espionage arrests, drone attacks, and the killing of Quds Force commanders. The crisis has emerged as the central issue of discussion at the OIC summit.

Erdoğan’s speech is seen as a diplomatic maneuver aimed at putting direct pressure on Israel. Simultaneously, by calling for unity among Muslim countries, he is signaling a push to form an alternative Islamic political front under Turkey’s leadership. This could further intensify international pressure on Israel and its allies.
