Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Thursday afternoon during an all-party meeting in Delhi that over a hundred terrorists have been killed in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as part of Operation Sindoor. This statement was reported by news agency PTI and top Indian media outlets, citing sources present at the meeting.
Quoting the Defence Minister, the sources also said that he issued a stern warning to Pakistan, stating that if they attempt to escalate the conflict further, India will deliver an appropriate response.
Describing Operation Sindoor as an ongoing mission, Rajnath Singh informed the meeting that India does not seek to launch any fresh attacks, but if the Pakistani army strikes Indian territory, a response will be inevitable.
After the meeting, Mallikarjun Kharge, President of the main opposition party Congress, told reporters:
“We heard what the government had to say. They also shared certain information that must remain confidential. As the opposition, we assured the government of our full support.”
India’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, while speaking to the media, said the meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere, adding:
“All participants showed maturity. No one resorted to blame games.”
