Turkey has expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkey warned that India’s recent strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir have increased the risk of a broader conflict.
Turkish Foreign Minister, in a message posted on social media, stated, “We are concerned about the growing tensions between India and Pakistan and are closely monitoring developments.”
The statement further added, “We strongly condemn any provocative attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure. Such actions pose a threat to the stability of the region.”
Turkey voiced hope that both parties would act swiftly and responsibly to de-escalate the bilateral tension. The Turkish government also expressed support for Pakistan’s call for a neutral investigation into the recent violent incident in the Pahalgam region of Kashmir.
This statement comes at a time when cross-border skirmishes and mutual accusations between the two nuclear-armed South Asian neighbors are intensifying, drawing increased concern from the international community over the potential for the situation to spiral out of control.
