— [Delhi, May 7, 2025] Another deadly clash has erupted along the India-Pakistan border. According to the Indian military, at least 15 Indian civilians have been killed and 43 others injured due to Pakistani shelling. The incident occurred in civilian settlements in the Poonch and Tangdhar areas of Indian-administered Kashmir.
Indian military officials stated that the Pakistani army deliberately targeted civilian areas using mortar shells and heavy artillery, causing extensive damage to homes, schools, and local infrastructure.
On the other hand, Pakistan has claimed that 26 of its civilians were killed in Indian airstrikes. The Pakistani government stated that it views these strikes as an attack on its sovereignty and that it will respond "at a time, place, and manner of its choosing."
In a statement, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “India’s aggressive actions have led to the loss of innocent lives. Our response will be calculated and appropriate.”
Meanwhile, due to rising tensions along the border, both countries have heightened security. The international community has expressed concern over the situation, as such confrontations between two nuclear-armed nations are viewed as a serious threat to South Asian security.
