Durga Puja’s Govt. vacation extend upto four days: Mahfuz Alam

Hindu worshippers in the country are gearing up for their biggest festival, Durga Puja, which coincides with a four-day holiday including the weekly holiday. A special assistant preacher at the Dhakeshwari Temple in the capital, Mahfuz Alam, announced, “The holiday for Puja is extended by one day. Thursday will also be a holiday for the Puja. An official notification will be issued today regarding this.”

According to the government holiday calendar, the upcoming 11th and 12th of October are weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday, while the 13th of October will be the Puja holiday. With the addition of Thursday’s holiday, government employees will now enjoy a total of four days off, combining the Durga Puja and weekly holidays.
