Nuclear Talks: On Saturday, Oman will host the third round of talks between the United States and Iran. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is traveling to Oman on Friday to continue discussions on the nuclear issue with the United States. Araghchi will lead a delegation of diplomats and technical experts from Iran.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, stated that the talks will be indirect discussions with the United States.
U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Whitcutt, will represent the United States in the talks, which are set to take place on Saturday in Oman.
Earlier, after two rounds of talks that began on April 12 in Muscat, Oman, and Rome, Italy, both sides signaled progress. The third round of discussions will focus on detailed technical discussions regarding Iran's nuclear program. Michael Anton, the head of policy planning at the U.S. State Department, will lead the U.S. technical delegation.
Iran's technical discussions will be led by Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi and Majid Takht-Ravanchi.
Baghaei emphasized that in order to achieve progress in the talks, the other party must show goodwill, importance, and a sense of realism.
In an interview this week, Araghchi stated, "We will participate in Saturday's discussions sincerely, and if the other side also comes with sincerity, there is an opportunity for progress."
It is worth noting that in March, President Trump sent a letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, urging for talks and warning of military action if diplomacy fails.
