BNP Does Not Engage in Divisive Politics, This Country Belongs to All: Dr. Khandaker Maruf Hossain
Babu Islam, Daudkandi, October 4, 2024: Dr. Khandaker Maruf Hossain, a member of the National Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), stated that the BNP has always worked to unite people of all classes, religions, and communities in the country and will continue to adhere to this principle in the future. He emphasized that BNP has never engaged in divisive politics and will not do so. This country belongs to everyone—rich or poor, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, or Christian—and all are equally citizens of this nation.
Dr. Khandaker Maruf Hossain made these remarks yesterday afternoon while addressing a meeting with the Hindu community of Daudkandi Municipality on the occasion of the Sharadiya Durga Puja festival. The meeting was held at ‘Maruf Villa’ in Daudkandi Municipality. It was presided over by Nur Mohammad Selim Sarkar, Convener of the Municipal BNP, and moderated by Kawsar Alam Sarkar, Member Secretary of the Municipal BNP.
The Term ‘Minority’ Is Created by the Awami League: Dr. Maruf
Addressing the Hindu community, Dr. Maruf said, “The term ‘minority’ is a creation of the Awami League and is part of their divisive politics. The BNP does not see anyone as a minority in this country; we see everyone as equal citizens.” He further added that BNP leader Tarique Rahman has permanently erased the term ‘minority’ and that BNP’s goal is to ensure equal opportunities for all citizens.
Call to Stay Vigilant Against Conspiracies
Expressing concern that some groups may attempt to disrupt communal harmony during the Durga Puja festival, Dr. Maruf urged everyone to remain vigilant. He said, “We are with you, and those who conspire will not be spared.” Reaffirming BNP’s commitment to maintaining a peaceful environment, he stated that during BNP’s time in power, the country enjoyed peace, and this tradition will continue in the future.
