Ukraine is deliberately obstructing peace efforts – Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova

Moscow, April 4: Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated in a press conference that the Kyiv government is deliberately obstructing the peace process in Ukraine.

She said, "The Kyiv regime is not only committing war crimes but is also deliberately sabotaging any peace efforts." She further noted, "I'm not talking about the Minsk agreements here. For seven years, we have been reassuring the Kyiv regime and its supporters to respect these agreements; rather, I’m referring to the fact that everything attempted over the past three years has failed."

Zakharova stated, "There have also been several rounds of direct discussions with Ukrainian officials."

She added, "From Moscow, there have been repeated and regular statements that a political and diplomatic solution has always been our priority. Russia has repeatedly reminded that the Kyiv regime has prohibited itself from engaging in talks with our country."

Furthermore, she claimed that Russia remains firmly committed to a peaceful resolution and described the Kyiv government's obstruction of peace initiatives as deeply regrettable.
