Russian President Vladimir Putin to Visit India: Strengthening Global Security and Multilateral World Order

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has announced that Russia is preparing to strengthen its bilateral relationship with India. Russian President Vladimir Putin will soon visit India, marking his first trip to the country since the start of the Ukraine war.

Lavrov made the announcement during a video conference on Wednesday, stating, "President Vladimir Putin is currently preparing for his visit to India."

He further explained that Russia is working to strengthen its bilateral relationships with important countries around the world, including India, with which Russia has a "special strategic partnership." Earlier, Lavrov mentioned that India, China, and other BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) members play a role in shaping a multipolar world.

Lavrov also noted that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was re-elected last year, his first foreign trip was to Russia. "Now it's our turn," he said.

India and Russia have long been strong strategic partners, and this relationship has developed over several decades. Russia has been India's main defense supplier, and both countries have collaborated on numerous military, space, and energy projects.

Moreover, both nations advocate for building a multipolar world order and support each other on international platforms such as the United Nations. Despite global shifts in dynamics, the India-Russia relationship remains strong, with a focus on further strengthening bilateral ties and addressing mutual challenges.
