In the Gaza Strip, Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 710 Palestinians and injured 900 in the past 48 hours since Tuesday, according to the Gaza Health Ministry spokesperson, Khalil al-Dakran. He stated that many of the deceased died due to the lack of necessary medical equipment and medicines, despite having serious injuries.
Al-Dakran further reported that nearly 70% of the injured are women and children, most of whom have suffered severe injuries. The Israeli airstrikes have intensified across Gaza, particularly during the early hours of the morning, destroying 11 residential buildings in Khan Yunis, Rafah, and Beit Lahiya.
Among the victims are newborns, children, women, and men, including seven family members who were killed in the strikes. The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed that the death toll has reached 49,547, with 112,719 injuries. According to the Gaza government's media office, the death toll has surpassed 61,700, and thousands of Palestinians are believed to be trapped under the rubble, with most presumed dead.
In retaliation for the Israeli airstrikes, on October 7, 2023, Hamas launched an attack on Israel, killing 1,139 people and capturing more than 200.
