Under Pressure from Foreign Powers, the Country's Security Situation is Very Dangerous – Gradually Becoming Worse: Swedish Security Police
Stockholm, March 11, 2025: Sweden's Security Police (SAPO) has stated in their annual report that the country's security situation is serious and there is a clear risk that it could worsen further. The report, released on Tuesday, highlights that foreign powers are pushing Sweden and Europe’s security into danger, using hybrid activities to destabilize the country.
Swedish authorities have been increasingly concerned in recent years about the threats posed by foreign powers such as Russia, China, and Iran, as well as extremist groups. These groups are involved in violent attacks, hybrid warfare, and corporate espionage.
Charlotte von Essen, the head of Sweden's Security Police, stated in a statement, "It is clear that the security situation could deteriorate further, and this could happen in a way that is difficult to predict."
