State Minister of Information said Mohammad Ali Arafat has emphasized the need for more professionalism and integrity in the media.
He stressed that all stakeholders, including owners and journalists, must work together to ensure responsible journalism and ethical practices. During a meeting with the Bangladesh Federal Journalist Union (BFUJ) on Wednesday afternoon at the ministry’s conference room, he reiterated these points.
He also highlighted the importance of ensuring stability both within media organizations and among their employees. This, he emphasized, is crucial for fostering a conducive environment where journalists can lead fulfilling lives. He underscored the necessity of achieving tangible results through the ministry’s departments and bureaus to enhance professionalism and integrity.
Furthermore, the Information Minister expressed determination to combat various forms of misinformation and propaganda against the country. He stressed the importance of projecting a positive image of Bangladesh globally by addressing the challenges posed by disinformation campaigns.
Among those present at the meeting were Omar Faruq, President of BFUJ, Deep Azad, Secretary General, former BFUJ Vice President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Sohel Haider Chowdhury, President of Dhaka Journalists Union, and Editor-in-Chief Akhtar Hossain, Vice President of BFUJ Madhusudan Mandal, Joint Secretary Sheikh Mamunur Rashid, Office Editor Sebika Rani, and Executive Council Member Noor-e-Jannat Akhtar Sima.
