US Advisor Morgan Ortagus said Hezbollah's presence in Lebanon's new government should not be allowed.

Beirut: US Deputy Special Envoy for the Middle East, Morgan Ortagus, stated on Friday that Hezbollah’s presence in Lebanon’s new government is a “red line,” and she welcomed the end of the Iran-backed group’s “reign of terror.”

Following a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Beirut, Ortagus said, “We have set clear red lines in the United States, so that they (Hezbollah) won’t be able to engage the Lebanese people in terrorist activities, and that includes being part of the government.”

She added, “The end of Hezbollah’s reign of terror has started, and it is now over.”
