"Two-State Solution Discussion: Trump Announces Upcoming Meeting with Netanyahu"
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu soon, during which they will discuss the two-state solution. Trump shared this information with reporters aboard Air Force One on the night of January 27.
Trump reiterated his call for Palestinians to leave Gaza, expressing hope that Egypt and Jordan would respond to his proposal and offer refuge to the Palestinians.
He said, "I want Palestinians to live in a place where they are free from revolution, conflict, and violence."
Regarding the current situation in the Gaza Strip, Trump stated, "You know, the Gaza Strip has been in a hellish situation for many years." He continued, "Different civilizations have come and gone in this region. It didn’t start here; violence has been ongoing here for thousands of years."
When asked whether his stance implied that he did not believe in the two-state solution, Trump replied that he would make a decision on this matter during discussions with Prime Minister Netanyahu.
According to the Times of Israel, Netanyahu’s office announced that he would depart for the United States on Sunday, January 28, and return to Israel on Wednesday, January 31.
