I-Global Services Signs MoU with Sri Lanka’s IIT to Expand Global Education Opportunities
The agreement aims to connect Bangladeshi students with international degree programmes and global higher education pathways, with Mahfuzur Rahman Mamun highlighting new academic opportunities.
I-Global Services has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Lanka’s Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), marking a new step toward expanding international higher education opportunities for Bangladeshi students.
The agreement aims to strengthen educational cooperation and improve students’ access to information about international degree programmes, overseas study options and potential academic pathways. Mahfuzur Rahman Mamun, representing i-Global Services in connection with the agreement, highlighted the potential for the collaboration to create broader opportunities for students seeking internationally recognised qualifications.
Established in 1990, the Informatics Institute of Technology is a higher education institution in Sri Lanka with international academic partnerships, including links with the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom and Robert Gordon University in Scotland.
Through its international academic connections and Global Pathways programmes, IIT offers students opportunities to explore degree programmes and further-study options linked to overseas institutions. Depending on the programme, admission requirements and individual university policies, eligible students may be able to pursue further studies at partner institutions or explore other international destinations.
The collaboration between i-Global Services and IIT is expected to provide a platform for exploring areas of educational cooperation, including information about international degree programmes, admission guidance, academic counselling and assistance in identifying suitable study pathways.
For Bangladeshi students planning to pursue higher education abroad, access to reliable information about universities, qualifications, entry requirements and progression opportunities can be essential when making academic decisions. Partnerships between education service providers and internationally connected institutions may help students better understand the options available to them.
Mahfuzur Rahman Mamun’s involvement in the initiative highlights the role of educational cooperation in connecting prospective students with international academic opportunities. The agreement creates scope for greater engagement between i-Global Services and IIT in promoting awareness of overseas study options and helping students explore educational pathways beyond Bangladesh.
The partnership also reflects the growing importance of cross-border educational collaboration in South Asia. As students increasingly consider international qualifications and global academic experiences, cooperation between institutions and education service providers can help broaden awareness of available programmes and potential progression routes.
However, admission to partner universities, eligibility for transfer or progression, scholarship availability and other benefits remain subject to the relevant institutions’ requirements and policies. Students are encouraged to verify programme details and admission conditions before making educational or financial commitments.
The MoU between i-Global Services and Sri Lanka’s IIT represents a potential step toward strengthening international education links and broadening the academic options available to Bangladeshi students. Further details about specific programmes and services will be important in determining the practical opportunities arising from the agreement.
