Trump Rejects Reports of US Ammunition Shortages, Says Stockpiles Are ‘Virtually Unlimited’

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday strongly rejected reports that the United States’ weapons and ammunition stockpiles have been significantly depleted amid the ongoing war with Iran.

In a social media post, Trump said the United States has “virtually unlimited” quantities of ammunition and is producing weapons and munitions at levels he described as unprecedented.

Trump also accused those reporting on U.S. ammunition shortages of being “treasonous,” claiming they would rather see the United States lose the war than see his administration prevail.

He said Washington is stockpiling weapons in preparation for any potential contingency and is prioritizing U.S. military requirements before resuming or expanding arms supplies to allies.

Trump also criticized former President Joe Biden’s administration over its military assistance to Ukraine. He alleged that the previous administration had provided Ukraine with more ammunition than the United States has used in the war with Iran and suggested that his administration would seek compensation from European countries for past U.S. support.

The dispute over U.S. weapons inventories has intensified as the prolonged conflict with Iran has raised concerns about the depletion of several critical weapons systems.

A Fox News report last month cited concerns over declining stocks of key systems, including Tomahawk cruise missiles and Patriot interceptors, potentially affecting U.S. military readiness for future conflicts.

Reuters previously reported on August 4, citing multiple sources familiar with the matter, that the United States had used “virtually all” of its highly accurate long-range precision missiles available at that stage of the war with Iran.

Trump has repeatedly disputed such reports, insisting that the United States has substantial ammunition reserves and is rapidly expanding weapons production to replenish and strengthen its stockpiles.
