Israeli President Isaac Herzog has accused New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani of spreading hateful and antisemitic rhetoric, warning that such remarks put the safety of New Yorkers at risk.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Herzog said:

"Mamdani does not respect my nation's right to self-determination or the Jewish people's inherent right to have a nation of their own. He is spreading blasphemy, hate, and antisemitic rhetoric. He should understand that he is risking the safety, well-being, and lives of his own citizens."

Herzog's remarks came after Mamdani posted a video on social media on July 21, calling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "a war criminal" and "the architect of a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people."

Reacting to the video, Herzog said:

"This cannot be accepted in New York, a city that is dear to our hearts, dear to Israelis, and dear to me personally."

He added:

"I believe New York will endure long after Mamdani. I only hope he does not cause irreversible damage."

Warning on Iran

Speaking about Iran, Herzog described the Iranian regime as a long-standing strategic threat not only to Israel and the Middle East but also to global stability.

"They take their people's food and money and spend it on terror around the world. That is a fact. The reason lies in their ideology—an ideology that does not tolerate other religions or even moderate Islam. That is what makes it so dangerous."

Herzog also cited Iran's missile program, activities around the Strait of Hormuz, nuclear ambitions, domestic repression, and support for regional proxy groups as evidence that Tehran poses a major threat to U.S. national security. He added that many Americans have been killed as a result of actions by the Islamic Republic.
