Trump Announces ‘Historic’ Agreement for Hamas’ Complete Disarmament

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a “historic agreement” aimed at the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups operating in the Gaza Strip.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the agreement was brokered by his Board of Peace with mediation from Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye, describing it as a major step toward achieving lasting peace and security in the region.

According to Trump, the agreement is a key component of his 20-Point Comprehensive Peace Plan, which seeks to end the war, rebuild Gaza, and establish a new Palestinian government capable of governing the territory.

The plan includes a phased disarmament process, the creation of a new Palestinian police force supported by an International Stabilization Force, and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli military forces as implementation progresses.

Trump said the agreement ensures that Gaza will no longer serve as a base for terrorist attacks, adding that the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel “will not be allowed to happen again.”

The Board of Peace later issued a statement calling the agreement a significant breakthrough, saying Hamas had officially committed to an actionable plan to surrender all of its weapons for the first time.

The next phase will focus on implementing the agreement, strengthening the rule of law, improving security, expanding humanitarian assistance, and supporting Gaza’s reconstruction and economic recovery.

However, there was no immediate public confirmation from Hamas or other involved parties regarding the announcement. Observers say the success of the agreement will ultimately depend on its implementation and the cooperation of all sides.
