U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States may eventually be “forced” to militarily “complete the job” against Iran after launching additional strikes on multiple Iranian targets, a day after retaliating for a drone attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “There may come a point when we are no longer able to be reasonable, and will be forced to militarily complete the job that we very successfully started.” He added, “If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist.”

About an hour after Trump’s post, the Kuwaiti military said its air defenses were responding to “hostile” missile and drone attacks, while air raid sirens sounded across Bahrain, according to the country’s interior ministry.

Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance reiterated the administration’s confidence in its Iran strategy during an appearance on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher. “If we make the final deal, then great,” Vance said. “If we don’t make the final deal, their nuclear program is still destroyed. They’re still much weaker as a country, so my attitude is America wins either way.”

Separately, Trump announced that he will nominate Lance Schroyer as the next director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), replacing acting director David Venturella. Trump said Schroyer brings more than 29 years of law enforcement experience in Oklahoma and previously served as both an Oklahoma State Trooper and a U.S. Marine.

In a statement posted on X, Markwayne Mullin, identified in the report as the Homeland Security secretary, said Schroyer would play a key role in carrying out the president’s immigration agenda by helping to “target, arrest, and deport illegal aliens.”
