Tehran, July 12, 2025 — Six people have been killed in an Israeli drone strike targeting a vehicle in the southern Lebanese city of Al-Nabatiyah, according to sources close to Lebanon's Ministry of Health. The Friday attack reportedly killed five individuals at the scene, while another person succumbed to injuries after being taken to a hospital.
Sources indicate the strike was carried out by the Israeli occupying forces (Zionist regime). Despite an existing ceasefire with Lebanon, Israel continues to violate Lebanese airspace and launch military operations, seriously undermining the country’s sovereignty, political analysts say.
Following the attack, the Hezbollah resistance movement released a statement asserting that it will not disarm and that its resistance against Israeli aggression will continue. Meanwhile, the Lebanese government faces growing criticism for what many view as a silent and passive stance in response to Israeli violations.
In a separate statement, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun declared that there are no plans to normalize relations with Israel under the current circumstances. He emphasized that the Lebanese government will take all necessary steps to protect the nation's sovereignty and ensure the security of its citizens.
Observers warn that this attack is likely to further escalate tensions across the Middle East.
