Israel Confirms Strikes on Iran, Explosions Reported Across Multiple Iranian Cities

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Sunday that it carried out strikes in western and central Iran. In a statement, the military said the attacks were conducted by the Israeli Air Force.

"A short while ago, the Israeli Air Force struck targets belonging to the Iranian terror regime in western and central Iran," the statement said, adding that further details would be released later.

Separately, Reuters reported that explosions were heard in the Iranian cities of Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan, citing local media reports.

The Israeli strikes came just hours after Iran launched a wave of ballistic missiles toward northern Israel.

According to Iranian state media and Reuters, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Israel carried out the attacks using “air-launched” ballistic missiles against targets inside Iran.
