Seven Israeli Soldiers, Including Officer, Killed in Hamas Attack in Gaza – Israeli Military Reports
[Jerusalem, June 25, 2025] — Seven Israeli soldiers, including an officer, were killed in an explosive attack by Hamas fighters in the Gaza Strip, according to a report by Reuters. In a separate incident, another Israeli soldier was seriously injured.
Reuters reported, citing a statement from the Israeli military, that the attack took place in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis. An explosive device planted beneath a military vehicle detonated as it was passing by, igniting the vehicle and resulting in the deaths of seven soldiers. Among the dead was one officer.
According to the Israeli military, at least 19 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza since the beginning of June 2025.
It is worth noting that Israel launched a large-scale air and ground offensive in Gaza following a surprise Hamas attack in October 2023. The offensive remains ongoing.
Reuters also cited data from Gaza’s Hamas-run Health Ministry, stating that more than 56,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since the war began. The majority of Gaza’s more than 2 million residents have been displaced and are currently facing severe food shortages.
International organizations have warned that the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate as a result of the prolonged conflict.
