The American Central Intelligence Agency FBI is searching for a Bangladeshi in connection with allegations of abduction, torture, sexual abuse, and demands for ransom in New York. The intelligence agency has announced a $20,000 reward for his capture. They have also published a poster related to the case.
According to the information published on the FBI’s website, the Bangladeshi’s name is Ruhel Choudhury (34). He was born in Bangladesh. He and his associates were allegedly involved in two abduction incidents on March 27 and May 11 last year in the Queens area of New York. During the abductions, personal belongings of the victims were stolen, and they were subjected to torture and forced to take drugs. One of the victims was also subjected to sexual abuse in captivity.
According to the information on the poster, the vehicles used during the abductions were supplied and driven by Ruhel Choudhury. He allegedly subjected the abducted individuals to torture and threatened them. Two allegations of abduction against Ruhel and his involvement in a total of six abduction incidents have been brought forward. Later, on January 9 last year, Ruhel was charged in a New York court, and an arrest warrant was issued.
FBI has announced the $20,000 reward for Ruhel’s arrest to aid in his capture. They have stated that Ruhel has connections to the areas of Hollis, Queens Village, and Jamaica. Local FBI offices or nearby American embassies or consulates have been requested to be contacted if he is found.
According to the information provided by the FBI, in addition to Ruhel, six others were involved in the abduction incidents. They were all arrested last July and January of the ongoing year. Among them were Abu Choudhury (34) and his wife Ifat Lubna (24).
Government officials in New York have revealed that on March 27 last year, a person was abducted from New York. After the abduction, the individual was taken in a vehicle driven by Abu Choudhury. The vehicle was being driven by Ruhel. At one point, the vehicle stopped, and the victim was stripped naked and left on the road, with the incident recorded on video. Ruhel, along with Sayed Rubel Ahmed, Shahed Alam, Anju Khan, and Sultana Rajia, kept threatening and abusing the victim throughout the night, and forced drugs on them.
The second abduction incident occurred on May 11 last year. Government officials have stated that a person was lured to a restaurant in New York by the accused Ifat Lubna. The person was then forcefully taken into a vehicle. Ruhel was driving the vehicle. Later, the victim was taken to a hotel and tortured, while Ifat Lubna’s husband, Abu Choudhury, sexually assaulted her. They also demanded ransom from her father. Finally, unable to get the ransom, they drugged her and kept her detained until the end.
