[Tehran, June 18, 2025] — Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Abdolrahim Mousavi, has warned residents of Tel Aviv and Haifa to evacuate the areas, saying that “punitive operations” may begin very soon.
In a video statement broadcast on state television, Mousavi said:
“Punitive operations will begin shortly.”
Referring to Israel, Mousavi stated:
“Residents of the occupied territories, especially those in Tel Aviv and Haifa, are strongly urged to leave these areas immediately for the sake of their lives.”
This warning came following an Iranian rocket attack on June 18, marking the fifth day of the ongoing deadly conflict.
At the same time, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed that they had launched strikes targeting Israeli airbases, from which, according to them, Israeli warplanes had taken off to attack Iran.
In a statement broadcast on state TV, the Guards said:
“In this new wave of attacks, a large-scale missile operation was carried out against the airbases of the Zionist enemy — bases from which their fighter jets take off to strike our beloved country.”
Earlier in the evening, sirens were triggered across a wide area of southern Israel, including several Israeli airbases. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that the ballistic missiles used in the attack were intercepted.
