During the annual Chief of Mission Conference held in Washington, various United States diplomats and consuls general appointed in different countries gathered. The country’s President, Joe Biden, hosted a reception for them at the White House on Tuesday.

In his address to the diplomats, Biden mentioned democracy and entrusted them with the responsibility of advancing human rights, stating, “So we can live free and independent lives.”

Referring to the “greatest challenge of our time,” Biden highlighted how he has stood up against Putin’s brutal war on the Ukrainian people. He mentioned that the United States is assisting Ukrainians in self-defense, stating, “Because if we don’t, just think, what’s going to happen? Think. This is not a hypothetical.”

Biden emphasized the need to combat climate change and ensure better preparedness for future pandemics in the global health arena. He stressed on taking action against the threat of climate change and being better prepared for the next pandemic.

A video released by the Azerbaijani-based news agency, Turan Information Agency, shows that during the President’s speech, the country’s Foreign Minister, Antony Blinken, stood right beside him. On Friday, through social media, Biden personally posted several pictures with many diplomats.
