According to a BBC Bangla report, the Bangladesh Army has stated that there is no conflict or disagreement between the military and the interim government led by Professor Muhammad Yunus.

Brigadier General Md. Nazim-Ud-Doula, Director of Military Operations at Army Headquarters, said that army personnel are working under government directives to ensure national security and sovereignty.

Speaking at a press conference held at Army Headquarters in Dhaka on Monday afternoon, Brigadier General Nazim-Ud-Doula stated:

“It is being suggested in some reports that there is a major disagreement or division between the government and the army, which we are seeing in the media… but nothing like that has happened. The government and the army are working together in full cooperation. So there is no scope for misinterpretation.”

He further added:

“We must not view this situation as if the government and the army are thinking differently or standing against each other. That is never the case. The government and the army are working together, and we firmly believe we will continue to do so in an even better way in the future.”

On the issue of border push-ins, Brigadier General Nazim-Ud-Doula said that the push-ins currently being observed along the Bangladesh border are completely unacceptable. If necessary, the army will also be deployed in these areas under government orders to address the issue.

Regarding reports circulating on social media that 30,000 uniforms of the banned Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) were found in a garment factory in Chittagong, he said the matter is being seriously investigated.

Army officials at the briefing also warned that any attempts to incite unrest or threaten public safety through mob mobilization will be met with strict action.

They further revealed that over the past few months, army operations have led to the arrest of 14,266 individuals, including many listed as accused in various criminal cases.
