Bangladesh has officially formed an interim government led by Nobel Peace Prize-winning economist Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus                                                                                                                                                                   Dhaka, Bangladesh Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and other 16 advisers were appointed to the interim government. The ceremony began with a tribute to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War, Professor Dr. Muhammadwho was sworn in as the Chief Adviser in a formal ceremony held at the Bangabhaban’s Darbar Hall on Thursday night.

The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at 9:15 PM, was administered by President Mohammad Shahabuddin. Dr. Yunus arrived at the presidential palace at approximately 8:45 PM, marking a pivotal moment in the country's political transition following the recent student-led uprising and the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Alongside Dr. Yunus, 16 advisers were appointed to the interim government. The ceremony began with a tribute to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War, followed by a moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives during the recent quota reform protests.

Of the sixteen appointed, three – Supradip Chakma, Bidhan Ranjan Roy, and Faruk-i-Azam – were unable to attend the ceremony due to being outside the capital.

This interim government is tasked with guiding the country through a politically sensitive transition, maintaining stability, and preparing for the next national elections amid growing public demand for reform and transparency.
