Hillary Clinton Criticizes President Donald Trump's Administration as "Dumb"
In an article published in the New York Times on Friday, Hillary Clinton sharply criticized the Trump administration as "dumb" and "careless." She pointed to the Signal chat leak, alleging that Trump administration officials shared U.S. military plans on a commercial messaging app and inadvertently included a journalist in the chat, which she described as a dangerous and "dumb" move for national security.
Clinton wrote, "It’s not about hypocrisy, it’s about stupidity. We are all shocked—shocked!—that President Trump and his team don’t actually care about protecting classified information or federal record retention laws, but we already knew that. What’s worse is that top officials put our troops in danger by sharing military plans on a commercial messaging app. That’s dangerous and it’s dumb."
Clinton further commented, "I’ve already posted, 'You’ve got to be kidding me,' in response to a report from The Atlantic about Trump administration officials accidentally including a journalist in a chat about the Yemen strike."
In her essay, Clinton also criticized various Trump administration policies, particularly the cuts to USAID, the closing of embassies and consulates, and layoffs within intelligence agencies. She referred to these decisions as "dumb" and "dangerous."
Additionally, Clinton referenced the "Reinventing Government" initiative from the 1990s during her husband's administration, stating, "The Clinton administration worked with Congress to modernize the bureaucracy and save billions of dollars. However, what the Trump administration is doing today is completely different—they are wrecking the government."
Through this essay, Clinton once again raised concerns about the Trump administration's performance and policies, which had sparked controversy over the Signal chat leak last week.
