Washington, March 26: Today marked "National Medal of Honor Day," during which President Donald Trump welcomed Medal of Honor recipients at the White House. This day is celebrated to honor the courage and sacrifices of U.S. veterans.

On March 25, President Trump wrote a message on Truth Social, saying, "On this Medal of Honor Day, we salute those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty with courage and heroism, putting their lives at risk. We honor those who have received the CENTCOM Medal of Honor for their bravery."

According to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Medal of Honor, first awarded by President Abraham Lincoln in 1861, has been given to 3,528 individuals to date.

President Trump spoke with veterans in the White House East Room. He said, "You are here, and for that, I am grateful. I feel good—among brave people like you, I feel brave."

On this occasion, President Trump also remarked, "It is a great honor for me to honor our nation's most courageous heroes and indomitable patriots."
