Moscow, Russia: Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced on Thursday that a new round of Russia-US talks will take place on March 24, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Speaking at a press conference in Moscow, Ushakov stated that the date was set during a phone call with US National Security Adviser Michael Waltz. He said, “Michael Waltz, Assistant to the US President for National Security, and I had a discussion yesterday, and I confirm that it indeed took place. We communicate regularly, and I believe this communication is highly beneficial for both sides.”

Ushakov further mentioned that the upcoming meeting will be held at the expert level, where a significant initiative on Black Sea navigation security will be discussed.

He referred to the "grain deal," an agreement brokered by Turkey and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, although he acknowledged that the agreement has not been fully implemented.

The Russian delegation will be led by former Deputy Foreign Minister and current lawmaker Grigory Karasin, along with Sergey Beseda, adviser to the Federal Security Service (FSB) director. Ushakov described them as “highly experienced negotiators with deep expertise in international affairs” and expressed hope for productive discussions.
