Reinvestigation of Major Zahid Murder: RAWA Leaders Meet with Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman

Dhaka, January 11, 2025: Members of the newly elected committee of the Retired Armed Forces Officers Welfare Association (RAWA) paid a courtesy call on the Army Chief on January 8, 2025. The delegation was led by RAWA's newly elected Chairman, Colonel Mohammad Abdul Haque, PSC (Retd.). Accompanying him were Senior Vice Chairman Brigadier General Mohammad Saidur Rahman, BP (Retd.), Vice Chairman (Army) Brigadier General Shams Alauddin Ahmed, NDC (Retd.), and Secretary General Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Irshad Saeed, PSC (Retd.).

During the meeting, RAWA representatives discussed various important issues with the Army Chief. Key topics included ensuring justice for deprived members of the armed forces, providing support to retired military officers, reinvestigating the murder of Major Zahid, reviewing ration benefits for retired members, and fostering good relations between retired and serving officers.

The Army Chief listened attentively to the statements from RAWA's committee members and assured them of cooperation on the relevant issues.
