Los Angeles, January 10 – The wildfires in Los Angeles have claimed at least 10 lives and destroyed nearly 10,000 homes. On Thursday, five wildfires continued to burn for a third night, with dry desert winds intensifying the flames' strength.

The Palisades Fire between Santa Monica and Malibu and the Eaton Fire near Pasadena in the east have been identified as the most destructive wildfires in Los Angeles history. These two fires have already burned 34,000 acres (13,750 hectares), or about 53 square miles, turning entire neighborhoods to ash.

So far, 180,000 people have been evacuated to safety, and 200,000 people have been issued warnings. However, with a slight decrease in wind speed, firefighters are using aerial support to try to control the blaze.

Authorities have stated that the damage from the wildfires may increase further as efforts to combat the natural disaster continue, but the situation remains extremely severe.
